Founded in California in the 1970s, CableCom played a key role in the early construction and expansion of the telecommunications infrastructure, building nearly 20 percent of the original coaxial cable plant for the cable television industry. We’ve been the primary contractor for major system operators in the San Francisco Bay area and Los Angeles for more than 40 years.

Since then, we’ve also grown to include project management and design services, systems engineering, and fiber optic cable construction, building on our expertise and always delivering technical excellence. Our in-house experts understand the constantly changing industry and service demands, and our state-of-the-art projects allow us to stay at the forefront of telecommunications.

Headquartered in Bothell, WA, we staff operations management offices in California, Washington, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah, employing nearly 1,200 team members. OSP Construction & Maintenance

CableCom has extensive experience in both aerial and underground construction, whether it be upgrades, maintenance, repair, or establishment of entirely new systems. Our aerial team carries out a full suite of services, including pole make-ready, new strand placement, lashing/overlashing, pole placement and removal as well as power supply installation. For areas that are better suited for underground installation, we have a service for every need, from vault and manhole placement, conduit placement, and proofing to directional boring, trenching, and micro trenching. Additionally, we have an emergency restoration team responding to plant outages 24/7. We’re also equipped to handle disaster recovery situations to get clients’ customers back online as quickly as possible.

Fiber Splicing

Our highly-trained fiber splicing specialists have many decades of combined experience in their trade. Armed with the most advanced fusion machines and testing equipment, we’re able to fortify networks with connections strong enough to support today’s growing demand with the lowest possible link loss and increased uptime. We splice, test, and optimize all coaxial and fiber projects per customer requirements. Each of our certified splicing technicians receives ongoing training and education to keep up with the best industry practices and keep our service on the cutting edge.

Project Management

Complex projects require vision and oversight from the start. Before breaking ground, we take a thorough assessment of the project scope, cost, and risk, making sure we have the appropriate professionals, materials, and access in place to deliver on our promise to our clients. We also track everything we work on, allowing our clients to hold us accountable and keep up with project goals. Over the years, we have established a success-proven process using industry-leading applications and technology to manage materials, and assets and allow full control of all elements of the project.

Our engineering team participates in ongoing technical training to ensure our skills, tools and methodologies are always up to date with the latest best industry practices to best meet the expectations and specifications of our customers.

Engineering

Every project has its own set of specifications and goals, which is why our engineering team works to provide flexible, customized solutions that meet every unique need. Prior to the design phase, our team performs field surveys to provide our engineers with all they need to design the project. Fluent in Spatial, AutoCAD, 3-GIS, and ArcGIS, our engineers can create projects of any scope and requirements. Our permitting department makes sure all permits are obtained before a construction project begins. Our permit specialists are also trained to build and maintain valuable relationships with government agencies. We carefully manage these business-to-agency relationships, using a Contract Management System to maintain both the high-level and granular information each agency requires.

MDU Installation

CableCom specializes in MDU installations for new real estate developments and other sites. We understand that internet and cable have become just as essential as other basic utilities, which is why we deploy technicians to provide swift installations and rebuilds. For multiple dwelling complexes such as high-rises, apartment complexes, and garden-style apartments, CableCom can handle cable placement and splicing and establish ISPs, ensuring occupants have the reliable access they need for internet use or hosting.
